Dr. Richard Young

Dr. Richard K. Young came to North Carolina Baptist Hospital in 1946 to serve as its chaplain. His work helped relieve some of Dr. W.K. McGee’s duties as Director of the Department of Religion and hospital chaplain. Dr. Young started the School of Pastoral Care at NCBH in which seminary students receive training to care and counsel sick people.

  1. Dr. Young was a frequent visitor in my home when I WAS 12-13 year old boy. His mild manner and pleasant outlook on life impressed me. He understood human nature better than most at the time.
