Dr. Robert L. Vann

Dr. Robert L. Vann is a fourth generation Wake Forester and doctor in his family. He is the son of Dr. Herbert M. “Major” Vann who was the Professor of Anatomy when the Bowman Gray School of Medicine moved to Winston-Salem in 1941. The younger Dr. Vann graduated from Wake Forest College in 1942, from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1945 and did his residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. He then practiced for two decades as a pediatrician in Winston-Salem. He also worked for the labs of Glaxo, Squibb and Beecham and was the founder of the Clinical Trial Management Services in Bristol, Tennessee.
