WTOB-TV engineers, Hassel Bailey and Garland Ray Vogler, 1953. WTOB-TV was located on Channel 26. Mr. Bailey was the chief engineer and Mr. Vogler was the staff engineer for WTOB-TV.

  1. WTOB-TV was owned by Southern Broadcasting. Not many tv sets had UHF at that time and that caused 26 tv’s early demise. It went off the air in the late 1950’s. Ray continued with WTOB radio then with WGHP-TV in High Point. I worked for Ray in the late 70’s. Ray later became chief engineer for WRVA in Richmond,VA. He passed away two or three years ago. Ray was also a ham radio operator W4NUP.
