Professor Cadd Grant O’Kelly served as principal of Slater Industrial School (now Winston-Salem State University) from 1904 to 1910. The Slater founder and principal was Dr. Simon Green Atkins, who served as head from 1892 to 1904 and then again from 1913 to 1934. Photograph of Professor O’Kelly, c. 1904.

  1. Mr. O’Kelly was my mother’s (Corinne Graves) grandfather. His daughter, Corinne O’Kelly married Fletcher Graves. They had two children: Corinne and Anne, my mother and aunt. Any pictures of the O’Kellys (including extended families) and information about them would be helpful in compiling our family tree. Thank you.
