Cecil Phanelson, Crane Operator

Cecil Phanelson of Martinsville, Virginia had been operating cranes for 20 years when 1994 rolled around. Cecil was hired through Centex-Simpson Company to work on the construction of the nine-story Emergency Department/Dietary Building at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in 1994. He said that the job requires good hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and an affinity for high places.
