Dr. Walter Bo

Dr. Walter Bo

Dr. Walter Bo can still be seen in 2007, walking the halls inside of the Gray Building at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Bo came to Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1960 as the director of the Gross Anatomy course. He is a firm believer in more laboratory work and less lectures for his students. “I try to plant a seed for them and get them to work it out. If you know it, you know it; if you don’t, you don’t, but don’t bluff. This isn’t for a grade anyway.” He constantly asks students what they think as they work in the laboratory. Students describe Dr. Bo as tough, fair, good teacher and dedicated to his students. The 1967 yearbook was dedicated to Dr. Walter Bo by his students.
