School of Pastoral Care

The School of Pastoral Care was founded at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in 1946 when Dr. Richard Young joined the Department of Religious Activities. In 1974, the Pastoral Care Foundation, Inc. was incorporated to aid the department with its growing ministries. Leon Rice, Jr. (on right) was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of this foundation. Dr. Young is on the left.
