Shown here are six friends who are on their way to hunting and fishing trip to Alaska. This photo is believed to have been made in the early 1950s at the Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem, NC. (L-R) are: Mr. Charles “Pete” Siewers, partial founder of Security Life Insurance before it became known as Integon; Mr. Basil Barr, excellent craftsman of furniture; Doctors Howard Bradshaw, [unknown first name] Abernathy, Fred Garvey and Felda Hightower. Bradshaw, Garvey and Hightower were faculty members of Bowman Gray School of Medicine. Abernathy was a podiatrist in Winston-Salem.
