Pike Electric

W.K. Pike, a steel erection contractor, of Greensboro was one of the contractors for the new Bowman Gray School of Medicine and the additions to North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Construction began in early summer 1940, and the new building was ready for occupation after the official cornerstone laying on April 16, 1941. The hospital had now grown from 108 to 300 beds with a new medical school attached. This photo shows an unidentified Pike employee working on the construction of the new wing.
