  1. I’m not in the photo, but I was playing that night. No. 77 in the middle is the great Robert Grant, the first African-American to be recruited and play for WF. He went on to play in the pros with the Baltimore Colts. I had the privilege to play defensive LB behind him. He taught me more than the coaches ever could about the fight within the game. It was like a war. I grew up real quick. But it was a hell of a lot better than Vietnam at the time.
