Fireworks at Pilot Mountain, 1967.

Fireworks at Pilot Mountain, 1967. The fireworks were postponed from earlier in the week because of rain. They were to have been the kickoff for a campaign to raise money to buy the mountain for a state park.

  1. What was the exact date of the fireworks on Pilot Mountain in September of 1967? It was mine and my wife’s first date. We were watching this event from the Pinnacle exit.

  2. The photograph was printed in the newspaper on October 1, 1967, so the photo was probably taken on September 30, 1967.
