Hanes Building

The five-story Hanes Building was dedicated in March 1970, which allowed for increased enrollment of Bowman Gray School of Medicine students in 1969. In 1988, six additional stories were added giving the building over 252,000 square feet of space which made room for 16 laboratories, 88 multi-purpose laboratories, 16 cold rooms and two lecture rooms. The building was named in honor of the Hanes family.
