Continental Hospital and Salem's Doctor

This empty lot on the corner of Bank and Main streets in Old Salem is where a two-story house once stood that was used as a hospital for General Nathanael Greene’s Continental Army in the 1780s. Next to the lot is Dr. Jacob Bonn’s house, who was Salem’s second doctor starting in 1772 after the Moravians moved the headquarters from Bethabara to Salem.
