City Memorial Hospital

The “New” Twin-City Hospital was later renamed City Memorial Hospital in 1921 and eventually closed with 300 beds in May 1964. The building, as seen here on East Third Street, was then used as low income housing for senior citizens. Winston- Salem State University now occupies some of the buildings in the original five-acre tract that was the “New” Twin- City Hospital.
