Calvin H. Wiley School. The school is located at the intersection of Hawthorne Road and Northwest Boulevard. Originally an elementary school, it was named for Dr. Wiley, chairman of Winston’s first school board & N.C.’s first superintendent of schools.

  2. Was Ms Moretz a 5th or 6th grade teacher in 1941?
    I don’t remember a Mr. Wiley as a 5th grade teacher
    I went to West End Primary to the 4th, then to Wiley for the 5th and 1/2 the year,the 6th. My family moved to Greensboro in ’42. G.K.Saltz
