Tending the Earth Quilt

Children at the Amos Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital work with (far left) Mary Dame, recreation therapist, to tend an earth quilt that was made for them by Normal Bradley, an artist from New Bern. ACCES, the young volunteer group of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, provided the earth quilt through a fund-raising effort. The quilt is fashioned with stones, pine needles, lumber, earth, and plants.
