The Snake Pit

The Phi Chi Fraternity House, located at 2009 Queen Street, was an integral part of Bowman Gray School of Medicine in the early years. Functioning in an air of good-natured kidding and robust friendliness, the frat house helped so much to dissolve the barriers between the classes in the school and alleviate the hard load of medical school. Down in the basement, having a good time in the “snake pit” are: (Last names only and starting in the BACK from L-R) unknown male, Glass; (front sitting from L-R) Moorman, Brunt, Yount, and Hood; (at the bar from L-R) Flanigan, Biggs, and Fernandez.
