Hazel Honeycutt is shown here standing beside signs advertising the general contractors, architects, and plumbers responsible for the expansion of the North Carolina Baptist Hospital and the new construction of the Bowman Gray School of Medicine that began in 1939 and finished in 1941. The actual expansion cost was $428,850.60 with $272,500.00 going to Fowler-Jones Construction Company. Upon completion of the new school and the additions to the hospital, the expansion cost doubled the value of the property to $841,952.97.
