Nursing Center at Oak Summit Opens

North Carolina Baptist Hospital’s 170-bed Oak Summit Nursing Center, opened in July 1993. A ceremony that included a ribbon cutting and planting of a ceremonial tree was held on July 11th. Mr. Len Preslar, President of North Carolina’s Baptist Hospital, is shown here with a shovel turning ground at the grand opening with other officials. Oak Summit is located at NC Hwy 66 and Windy Hill Drive in northern Forsyth County. Its affiliation with WFUBMC allows staff to treat residents with acute care needs and provides residents easy access to the expertise and special care services offered by top specialists in geriatric medicine. It is also the only nursing facility in Forsyth County to provide long-term care for ventilator-dependent residents.
