Davis Chapel Cornerstone

The laying of a cornerstone is an honored custom. One stone, especially fitted and strategically placed in the scheme of the structure, is given the position of honor. To it, all the other stones in the edifice must be rightly related in order for the cornerstone to be in unity with the entire structure. Shown in the photo tapping the stone and declaring the chapel as “well and truly laid” is Mr. J.F. Larson, architect of the chapel. Looking on is Mr. H.B. Nifong, Vice-President, Secretary and Manager of the Mill Supply Department; and Mr. R. W. Allen, Vice-President and Manager for the Heating and Air Conditioning Department.
