Richard Jobson Wherry

Richard Jobson Wherry is pictured here in 1963 studying in Coy C. Carpenter Library. Wherry graduated from Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1965. He was one of several Reynolds Scholarship recipients. The scholarship covered the cost of four years of medical school and two years of post-graduate training. Recipients must intend to follow their profession in North Carolina at least five years after their education. The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation provided the scholarships.

  1. This is my father. He died when I was 4 1/2 years old. I never got to know him but I love this picture of him!
