The Hall House in Salem

This image shows the Hall House from the southwest on Main Street. Construction of the Hall House in Salem began in 1827 with alterations made in 1843. The two-story, five-bay frame house is a fine example of a combination shop and residence. Its two entry doors have a shared stoop. From 1841 James Hall used the house as a bakery, bake shop, and residence. The house was restored in 1976 to its 1843 configuration.
