John Ackerman House in Salem

John Ackermann, a cooper, buit this one-and-a-half story log house on Factory Row in 1822. Typical of early Salem houses–but unlike the later houses on Factory Row–it was built directly on the sidewalk. The house was reconstructed in 1985.
