'Senior Study Parlor / Salem Academy and College'

This photograph of five women is inscribed “Senior Study Parlor / Salem Academy and College.” Seniors enjoyed many privileges, including living in the “senior” Annex Hall after 1904. The students lived upstairs while the lower level was devoted to classroom space. This photograph possibly documents the downstairs study.

  1. I think one of the girls in this photograph may be my grandmother, Emma Carter. She would have been a student at Salem around that time. Is there anyway I can find the names of these girls ?
